The tanker RP Resor was torpedoed on February 28, 1942 by U-578. She was originally constructed in Kearny, NJ and her final resting place is in 125 fsw approximately 35 miles out of Manasquan Inlet. The broken-up wreckage is known by scuba divers to be an excellent dive for food, especially scallops.
